It is impossible to know God without Jesus, it is also impossible to come to God apart from Jesus. The Gospel of John makes this very clear. Apart from this John reveals to us in very clear ways the divinity of Christ – every miracle John describes is a pointer to a greater narrative that has eternal implications.

More than that, Jesus speaks for himself in John’s account of the Gospel; we will come across the many I AM statements of Jesus and would discuss what these mean. But John didn’t just write his gospel simply as a theological discourse. He tells us why he makes a record of Jesus life – his words and his deeds. Here’s what he says in John 20:31

But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
