Success is worth talking about. Many who have reached milestone ages 30, 40, 50, 60 etc. have often worried that life may have passed them by. So they fret, get angry are easily irritated and are hard to get along with. Success has sadly been elusive.

But we might succeed and remain desperately unhappy too – so you won that big contract, got the plum job, bought your dream car, or put a deposit down on your dream house, got straight A’s, snapped up a first class in university but when it’s all said and done the satisfaction of achievement soon disappears – and it’s back to the daily stress-filled grind.

This isn’t the kind of success God has in mind for you and me. In fact the Bible says two things about you and success. The first is that God is delighted when you succeed. It is in Psalm 35:27 it says

‘The LORD be magnified who delights in the prosperity of His servant.

The second is that God wants you to have success in every area of your life. Again the Bible says

‘the blessing of the LORD enriches and He adds no sorrow to it (Prov. 22:10)

Success from God is 360 Degree success – it is all encompassing. Success isn’t as God meant it when you prosper in your career or business to the detriment of your significant relationships, it certainly isn’t what God had in mind when you are financially well off but your home is a mess or you don’t have time to enjoy what you are blessed with. Success without peace of mind isn’t really success, it’s a burden.

So, how do you achieve 360 degree success? God has a lot to say about that and that’s what this sermon series is about.
